If a\u00a0NIM\u00a0has been setup for a machine, you can also boot the machine from a NIM master in maintenance mode.<\/p>\n<p>The bootlists are set using the\u00a0bootlist\u00a0command or through theSystem\u00a0Management Services\u00a0Progam (SMS). pressing\u00a0F1\u00a0will go to SMS Mode.<\/p>\n<p>then change the bootlist for service(maintenance) mode as 1st device to CD ROM.<br \/>\n<a name=\"more\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>#bootlist -m service cd0 hdisk0 hdisk1<\/p>\n<p>then start maintenance mode for system recovery,<\/p>\n<p>Access rootvg,<\/p>\n<p>access this volum group to start a shell,<\/p>\n<p>then recreate BLV using\u00a0bosboot\u00a0command.<\/p>\n<p>#bosboot -ad \/dev\/hdisk0<\/p>\n<p>it&#8217;s important that you do a proper shutdown, All changes need to be written from memory to disk.<\/p>\n<p>#shutdown -Fr<\/p>\n<p>Imp:\u00a0bosboot\u00a0command requires that boot logical volume\u00a0hd5exists. If you wan create a BLV ( may be it had been deleted by mistake ), do the following,<\/p>\n<p>1. boot your machine in maintenance mode,<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Create\u00a0a new\u00a0hd5\u00a0logical volume,\u00a0one PP\u00a0size, must be inrootvg,specify\u00a0boot\u00a0as logical volume\u00a0type,<\/p>\n<p>#mklv -y hd5 -t boot rootvg 1<\/p>\n<p>3.
