Saneeswara Baghawan (SATURN) : Thirunallar

History:
Thirunallar is famous for Lord Saneeshwara’s (Saturn) temple.The Thirunallar temple is a Shiva Temple (Lord Shiva is known as Dharbaranyeshwarar here) but the main glory of the temple is Lord Shaniswara. The only temple where Lord Saneeshwara lost all his power to Lord Shiva (Dharbaranyeshwarar) which saved his devotee Nalan from Saturn’s curses.It is believed that by bathing in nala theertham here, one washes off all kinds of misfortunes and afflictions caused by one’s past karmas.According to astrology, Saneeswaran moves from one sign (house) to the next in the Zodiac once in 2-1/2 years and the day of his transit is observed as a festival in Thirunallar.Saneeswaran is reputed to be both, a giver and destroyer. A person who prays to Saneeswaran will be blessed with not only riddance from the problems and worries faced, but a life that one desires.Worshipping of Lord Shani helps people to develop a positive mindset even during the harshest of Shani periods. The great Saivite saints Thirugnanasambhandar, Sundaramurthy Swamigal, Thirunavukkarasar and Arunagirinadhar have worshipped at this shrine and sung about the glory of the Lord.

The name “TIRUNALLARU” is said to represent the association of Nala of the Nishadha country who got his deliverance from the evil effects of Shani (Saturn) by invoking the Lord’s mercy here. (Nala+Aru-Nallaru).
The word “Aru” also conveys the meaning “to heel” and the two words taken together will mean Nala’s place of redemption or the pace where Nala secured his redemption from the hold of Saturn through the Lord’s Grace.
Others are inclined to read the meaning ‘between rivers’ in the name Nal-Aru, as this place is situated in the midst of two rivers in the north i.e. Noolaru and Vanchiaru, and one in the south, Arasalaru.
And this name as such occurs in the earlier padikam as wel as in the Inscriptions. Besides, the name of Nallaru this sacred plaee has also other name such as Adipuri, Darbharanyam, Nagavidangapuram, Naleswaram etc
History:
Lord Sani Bhagavan at Thirunallar
As per the history of the temple, the great King Nala of Puranic fame was relieved of the affliction of Lord Saturn or Lord Saneeswaran after worshipping the Lord consecreted in this temple.Whoever visits this temple and prays before Lord Saneeswaran is believed to have been relieved of all the curses and sufferings and get the blessings of Lord for a happy and prosperous life.
When the Planet Saturn transits between zodiac signs, literally millions throng this shrine. The Legendary King Nala is said to have been relieved of his affictions, which were due to the malefic influence of Saturn, after worships in this temple.
The moolavar of Dharbarenyeswarar is Swayambu Lingam.Poojas are performed 6 times(6 kalams) by the Brahmin priests.Poojas like Ashtothra Archana, Abhishegam, Sahasranama Archana and Navagraha Shanthi Homam are performed daily but Homams are not accepted on Saturdays.Facilities are also available to perform the following poojas on behalf of devotees and to send the prasadam (viboothy and kumkum) by post who wish to pay the prescribed amount.

A malefic Saturn in one’s horoscope is believed to cause miseries and hardships which can be mitigated by worshipping him.According to astrology, Saneeswaran moves from one sign (house) to the next in the Zodiac once in 2-1/2 years and the day of his transit is observed as a festival in Thirunallar.
On the day previous to the day of transit, religious discourses and entertainments are arranged.On the festival day, Thiruppavai and Thiruvembavai are chanted at 5.00 a.m. An Abhishegam on a grant scale is performed for the Lord Saneeswara Baghavan.Oil, Milk, Curd, Rose-Water, Tender Coconut water, Fruit juice etc., are used for the Abhishegam.
The place was originally a forest of Dharba grass and it is stated that the Lingam even now has impressions left by the Dharba weeds within which it was situated.The Lord here is also known as “ADHIMOORTHY or NALLARAR”.The great Saivite saints Thirugnanasambhandar, Sundaramurthy Swamigal, Thirunavukkarasar and Arunagirinadhar have worshipped at this shrine and sung about the glory of the Lord.
“PACHAI PADHIGAM” sung by the great saint Thirugnanasambhandar is very famous one.
Of the numerous tanks theertams, the Nala theertam is the important one. By bathing here, it is belived that one washes off all kinds of misfortune , afflictions and to escape from the woes of sani. Saniswara or Saturn, is generally known to affect one adversely on occasions when he occupies certain positions in one’s horoscope.A prayer to him, especially on Saturdays, is said to mitigate the hardships one will have to face during these periods. Saniswara is considered equally a bestower of all benefits to the devotees who pray sincerely to him. He is ruled by Lord Yama.

History:
Kanjanur is the sthalam for Sukran. Agni is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva here and hence the name Agneeswarar.As per the Temple story (Sthala Purana), Lord Brahma was blessed with a vision of Shiva’s marriage with Parvathy here. The Brahma Lingam enshrined in this Temple is said to have been worshipped by Lord Brahma himself. There is no separate sannidhi (shrine) for Lord Sukra as Lord Shiva himself is believed to have incarnated as Venus here.

During vamanaAvatharam, when lord vishnu took the form of a small boy asked Bali for three steps of land,Asura Guru Sukracharya had doubts about the boy.When Bali denied to attentive his advise,he took the form of abee and hid in the mouth of the Kamamdalam from which Bali would pour water to donate the three steps of land.When water did not flow from the kamandalam,Vishnu in the form of Vamana Avataram pricked sukracharya with a Darbhai grass sue to which he lost an eye, and had to come out. At the appropriate time, having had his wish,vamana took his huge form of Avatharam and measured out of the land and the sky, and as the 3rd step, placed his foot on Bali,blessing him.Sukracharya however was angry with Vishnu, and cursed him.It is belived that Vishnu prayed to Shiva at Kanjanur, where he was relieved of the curse. Shiva not only blessed Vishnu here, he promised to remain and bless those who came with prayers to Sukran his favour.There is no idol or image os Sukran at kanjanur.It is Shiva himself who takes the position of sukran here.Kanjanur is the temple for performing “Kalathira Dosha Pariharam” for lord sukiran.
Lord Sukran is offered white Lotus, white cloth, mochai kottai (common bean) and aththi (fig) to alleviate problems caused by Sukra dosham. Friday is the day of Sukran and worship on Fridays is considered very special.

History:
The temple is one of the nine Navagraha sthalas(Temples of Nine planets) located in the Cauvery Delta region dedicated to planet Jupiter, called Dakshinamoorthy,the Guru.Lord Guru can be propitiated in the form of Sri Dakshinamurthy.Legend is that Siva consumed deadly poison, giving rise to the name Alangudi and deity being termed Apatsahayesvarar, indicating saviour during hard times.He is also known as Brihaspathi, due to his excellence in education and fine arts, possessing supreme intelligence.Parvathi, the consort of Lord Shiva, is said to have been reborn on the banks of the Amrita Pushkarini within the temple precincts before being reunited with siva.Presiding deity Aabathsahayeswarar is a Swayambulinga Murthy in the temple. Lord Dakshinamurthy adored as Guru Baghwan (teacher of Dharma and Yoga sastras) has special importance in the temple and therefore, the place is regarded as Dakshinamurthy Sthala – the holy place.
It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where Campantar, one of the four most revered Nayanars (Saivite Saints) have sung the glories of this temple.Sage Sukha, Rishi Viswamithra, Sage Agastya, Adisankara and several other holy men have worshipped at this shrine.

Budhan Baghawan( MERCURY) -Thiruvengadu

History:
    Sri Swetaranyeswarar is Shiva as Bhuda or Mercury. It is one of the Navagraha Sthalas. The Lord Bhuda faces North East direction.Among nine planets Budhan is said to bestow wisdom and intellect. Budha or Mercury is considered as the greatest among the wise. This place is similar to Kasi with all the Snana Ghats. One can do all the karmas here, that is supposed to be done in kasi. This place is also called Adhi Chidambaram. Nataraja’s dance here is known as Hasti Natanam.Achuthagapanar bathed in the three tanks, worshiped Thiruvengadar and he was blessed with a child. This child came to be known as Meikandar .Those who visit Thiruvengadu will find relief from puthira dosham, difficulties in studies, mental instability, and nervous disorders.
   This temple is especially known for its unique incarnate of Lord Shiva called “Agora Murthi”.It is said that Agora Murthi was one of the furious incarnation of Lord ShivaLord Shiva took his incarnation ‘Agora murthi’ and killed the ‘Padmasuran’ under a tree.( which is now in Thiruvengadu temple, back to the entrance of Agora murthi).

Angaraha Baghawan (MARS) -Chevvai Vaitheeswaran Koil

History:
 Shiva is worshipped as Vaitheeswaran or the “God of healing” and it is believed that prayers to Vaitheeswaran can cure diseases. It is one of the nine Navagraha (nine planets) temples associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka). The village is also known for palm leaf astrology called Naadi astrology in Tamil.One of the nine planets, Angaraka (Mars), suffered from leprosy and was cured by Vaidhyanathaswamy. Shiva is considered to be the Divine Healer called Vaidyanathar.  His consort Thaiyalnaayaki is said to accompany him with a vessel containing medicinal oil. There is also a shrine dedicated to Dhanwantari here. The prasadam offered at this temple is Thiruchaandu Urundai placed at the Thaiyalnayaki shrine and distributed.Another prasadam offered here is sandal paste referred to as Nettirapidi Chandanam.Lord Shiva in this temple is swayambumurthi.
The holy waters of the Siddhamirtham tank within the temple complex contains nectar, and a holy dip is believed to cure all diseases.The temple is revered by the Tevaram hymns of 7th-century Saiva nayanars – Tamil saint poets and is also classified as a Paadal Petra Sthalam (temple revered by the nayanars).
The place is also known as Pullirukkuvelur.During the Ramayana period, Rama, Lakshmana and Saptarishi have worshipped the deity in this place.It is believed that Rama and his brother Lakshmana cremated the vulture king Jatayu who was killed by Ravana when he tried to prevent the abduction of Sita at this place. There is a pond at this temple called Jatayu kundam (pot of Jatayu having holy ash of Vibhuti).

Chandra Baghawan (MOON) – Thingalur

History:
   Thingalur is the sthalam for Chandran.Thingal in Tamil means Chandran and hence the name Thingalur.Chandran is the Lord of Kadaga Rasi and he faces the South-East direction.The Adi Devatha is water; prathyathi Devatha is Gowri; his colour is white and his vahana is white horse. The grain associated with him is paddy, rice; the flower – white arali; fabric – white cloth; gem – pearl;rice – Curdrice.
   The Devas and asuras were churning the paarkadal using Mandira Malai and the snake Vasuki. The asuras held the head portion of the snake and the devas, the tail portion. When Lord Vishnu was distributing the Amrutham amongst the devas, at the behest of Sukracharya, one of the asuras in the guise of a deva consumed the nectar.
  Suryan and Chandran noticed this and complained to Lord Vishnu.  An angry Vishnu used his chakrayudham (discus) to cut the asura into two and threw them away. The head joined with a snake’s body to become Rahu Bhagavan. The body portion kept growing because the asura had consumed Amrutham.  This later joined with the head of a snake and became Kethu Bhagavan.
  Now, Rahu and Kethu did not forgive Suryan and Chandran.  Rahu went after Chandran and started consuming him.  It is here that Chandran prayed to Lord Siva and got his blessings. Shiva blessed Chandran with the power to grow back to full size in 15 days after being consumed by Rahu.  That is why we have the waxing and waning moon.  Shiva also blessed Chandran by adorning Chandran on his forehead so that anyone who prays Shiva will have to pray Chandran.
  Another story for waxing and Wanning period of chandran is,King Dakshan gave all his 27 daughters in marriage to Chandran. Those 27 wives of Chandran are the 27 stars in Tamil Calendar. As Chandran’s favourite was Rohini and he spent most of his time with her, the others complained about this to their father. King Dakshan asked Chandran to treat all of them equally, which Chandran refused.  An angry Dakshan, cursed Chandran that all his beauty and brightness will disappear slowly everyday. A worried Chandran, on the advice of Lord Brahma, then performed penance on Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva appeared before him and adorned his forehead with the crescent-shaped Chandran. Shiva then came to be known as Chandrasekaran also.  He blessed Chandran to regain his beauty and brightness slowly day by day.  This waxing period of the moon is called Sukla Paksham or Valarpirai.  Chandran gets back all his beauty and attains full brightness on Full moon day or pournami.  From Pournami to the full moon day he again starts loosing his beauty and brightness till the New moon day or Ammavasai.  This waning period of the moon is called Krishna Paksham or Theipirai.

Suriyanar Temple (SUN Temple) – Thirumangalakudi

History:
Suryanar Koil, is built by King Kulothunga Chola I in the year 1100 AD.This is a temple dedicated for the nine planets – Navagrahas. The devotee can worship all the planets as presiding deities.The SUN is the prime deity. Usha devi and Sri Purusha devi(Chaya devi) are the consorts.Sun god holds two lotus flowers in his hands It is king of kings in the Navagraha planets. It is at a distance of 93,00,000 miles from earth. He is the owner of Simha Zodiac. He Circumvent the earth in a year. He is in Ticha(High) power in Mesha Rasi. Lord SUN represents father. He gives emergy, will power, faithfulness, obedience, strength, might, attracting others. SUN is the son of Kachyapa Muniver. The temple sannadhi is facing west. The temple is under the administration of Thiruvaduthurai Adhinam. The vechicle of the lord is horse. This horse is named Sabtha Sabtham. It indicates the seven horses of the sun’x Chariot.
Story of the temple :
    Sage Kalava Muni was suffering from severe leprosy.  He worshipped all the planets begging total cure.  All the planets graced the Rishi with what he wanted – the cure from leprosy.  Lord Brahmma strongly objected to the response of the planets to Rishis penance on the ground that in accordance with the orders of Lord Shiva, the planets were to give the effects of good and evil deeds of the individuals and that that the planets had violated this rule by directly giving boons to a devotee and cursed them to suffer from leprosy themselves. The planets came down to a white wild flower jungle (Vellerukku vanam) and performed penance on Lord Shiva for relief. Stay there offer worship from the first Sunday of Tamil month Karthigai for 12 weeks in total of 78 days on Mondays, they have to take bath before sunrise in Cauvery and offer prayers to Prarivaradhan and MangalaNayaki with in 2 1/2hours after sunrise, they have to have curdrice in ‘Arka leaf’ amd eat the same. On the other days they have to be in fast to release themselves from the punishment. Lord appeared before them and said that the place belonged to them and allowed them to grace the devotees worshipping them enduring a variety of hardships.
Festival:
    10 day Ratha Sapthami in Thai month (January-February) is a very important festival in the temple.Also Saturn (Sani) and Jupiter (Guru) transition days are celebrated with special pujas.

The temple is located in a small village called as SuryanarKoil and is about 2Km. north of Aduthurai town. Suriyanar Kovil is located at Thirumangalakkudi(near Aduthurai, Kumbakonam). The nearest railway station is Aduthurai which is in between Kumbakonam and Mayiladuthurai railway line.

How to do Pariharam:
Those interested to get rid of the evil of Lord SUN has to pray lord siva and perform Archana and also can perform Abishegam and Archana to Lord Murugan. This should be in the week days of Sunday or Tuesday. Auspicious days are on the stars of Karthigai, Uthiram and Uthiradam of Avani month(15th August to 16th September). Once Prayer and Pariharam has been made, SUn will protect the father, protect service and all ill blocked. Chanting of Powerful Aathithya Hirudhayam with devotion and dedication will give all the best to the devotees.

Reach temple by 12:15 PM, spend 30 mins at temple. Start at 12:45 PM to Sukkiran – Kanjanoor temple.

All Temples close time 1:15 PM to 4 PM.  Travel towards Mayiladuthurai 28 kms drive in 45 mins and finish your Lunch. Start to Vaitheeswaran temple- Mars (sevvai) at 2:30 PM drive 15 kms travel towards Chidambaram. Reach temple by 3:30 PM or 3:45 PM, temple opens at 4:00 PM. finish darshan by 4:30 PM.

1. Dhina porutham
Dhina portham is essential for prosperous life with out poverty and diseases. You have to count from Girl’s Nakshatra to Boy’s Nakshatra. While counting if you get 2,4,6,8,9,11,13,15,18,20,24 or 26 there is Dina porutham exist between the two. The result is Uthamam.

While counting except 1st quarter in 12th, except 4th quarter in 14th and except 3rd quarter in 16th are Mathimam.

All others and Ashtama Rashi Nakshatras are Athamam or no match.

Ashtama Rashi means 8th rasi. For example 8th for Tarurus is Saggittarius. Moolam 1,2,3,4 Pooradam 1,2,3,4 Uthiradam 1 belongs to that rashi. When girls Nakshatra belongs to Rishab (Taurus) All nakshatras of Saggittarius won’t match.

Aega Nakhsatra / Same Nakshatra:

When both boy and girl have Rohini, Thiruvathirai, Poosam, Maham, Hastham, Thirivonam Dhina porutham will be uthamam.

When both have Ashwini, Bharani, Karthikai, Mrigashrish, Punarpoosam, Uthiram, Chithirai, Anusham the Dina portuham result will be Mathimam.

When both have same rashi boy’s nakshatra should precede girls. When both have same Nakshatra should precede that of the girl.

The rest 13 won’t match.

If you get 27 while counting match is considered, only if the rasi is same otherwise there is no match.

While counting from girl’s Nakshatra if boy’s comes as 7th, it is called ‘vatham’. While counting from boy’s nakshatra if girl’s comes as 22nd it is called ‘vinashika’. Vahtam and ‘Vinashika’ sould be rejected.

This is primary method for calculating dhina porutham. There is other method using Janmam, Anu Janmam, thri janmam. This is least used method, hence I am not explaining it here.

2. Gana porutham

If both boy and girl belongs to Rakshash gana the match is uthamam.

If boy belongs to rakshash Gana and the girl belongs to any Gana the match will be Mathimam.

If girl belongs to rakshash Gana and there is no match if boy belongs to any other gana.

This match will determine mangala or auspiciousness.

3. Mahendra porutham
If counted from girl’s nakshatra if you get 4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25 the match is uthamam. Otherwise no match.

This match is considered for offspring (children)

4. Sthree Theerkam
While counting from the Girl’s nakshatra if boy’s comes above 13 the match is uthamam. If it comes above 7 mathima porutham.

This porutham gives good longevity and prosperity.

Yoni match is considered for physical compatibility or sexual compatibility.

6. Rasi porutham
If both the boy and girl belongs to the same rashi or boy’s rashi is greater than 6 while counting from girl’s rasi the match is uthamam.

While counting from girl’s rashi if boy’s rashi comes at 3,4 the match is mathimam.

6th and 8th rashi is sashtamsam and hence won’t match

2nd and 5th won’t match.

The purpose of rasi porutham is offspring and other important thins in life.

While counting from girl if 3 comes the effect is sorrow, discomfort and suffering.

If 4 comes there will be poverty and struggle.

If 5 comes there will be misfortune and unhappiness in the family.

If 7 comes it will give auspicious results like progress and prosperity in the family.

While counting from groom if brides rasi occurs at 2,6 or 12 the above said ill effect will prevail.

7. Rashi athipathi (lord)

If rasi lords of both boy and girl are mutual friends the result is uthamam.

If lords are equal the match is mathimam.

If they are enemy the match is athamam.

8. Vasiya porutham.

9. Rajju portham
Rajju is considered important marriage match. It denotes Mangalya bala. If there is no rachu marriage is not recommended.

Apart from these 10 matches between two horoscopes there is another thing called nadi porutham. North Indian consider this important. Body belongs to three nadis Vatha, Pitha, sileshma. This is related with medicine and well being and heatlh.

If girl belongs to vatha nadi, boy should be pitha or sleshma nadi.

There are other aspects like sevvai dosha, rahu-kethu dosha, Kala sarpa dosha and dasa santhi apart from ‘pathu porutham’.

Saturn is known as ‘Shanai shchara’ (slow moving -in Sanskrit). Sani is the son of Sun and Chaya devi (shadow) and half brother of Yama. Saturn is identified with metal Iron, Tree is The Prosopis Spicigera (Sami Tree) – known as Vanni, Flower is karungkuvalai. The Vehicle known as Vahana is Crow and Animals are Dogs, Buffalos, monkeys, Ants in insetcs. Sani is Black colour and wears black/blue clothes, and in diretcion it is West. Taste is Astringant. Athi Devata is Yama. Sani owns Makara and Kumba Rasis. Saturn is for Implimentation of Law of Karma and Dharma. Hence denotes Judges. Sani Gems are Blue Sapphire. Element Is Air. Numerical Value is 8.

Saturn is a planet of Truth, ambition, achievement, Administraion, hard work, Borders, Doors, windows, Teeth, Chin, bones, nail, Human Hair. It rules over masses, dark places, Labour. He is enemy of Sun. Saturn is linked with History, Traditions, Past, Future, Black Magic, Frustration, Disappointment, Failure, Long term planning, Loneliness, Seperation. Saturn deals with reality. There is none who gives good results like Sani Graha or ruins the life like Sani. Longevity, Elderly people, Low Caste, Humiliation, Disgrace are denoted by Saturn. Father, Grand Father are indicated by Saturn which is the planet for social responsibilities, charity, Social Services etc. Sani will cause Long Delay, Slow Movement besides denotes Archaeology and Geological Departments. Sani being an agricultural planet, it indicates Implements used in farms/gardens. It denotes Disease, Limbs, knees, Dependents etc. Purana says Sani is opened with half his eyes and Sani is a great devotee of Lord Krishna. Let us see the connections between Sani Graha and Lord Srinivasar of Tirumala.

01) Lord Srinivasa took his avatar in Purattasi when Sani is said to reduce his negative power during this month as he is pleased with the Spirituality of this period due to both Pithru Kaaryams and Deva Kaaryams are peformed. worshipping Vishnu, Fasting on Purattasi Saturday would please Sani graha.

  1. a) During the Month of Purattasi, Pithru kaaryam are performed as Mahalaya Paksha Tarpanam with water and Gingelly seeds (Ellu) to please Pithrus who descent to earth to their ordained rites from their descendants as Kanya Rasi represent South (dakshinayanam)since Pitru Loka is in southern Hemisphere.
  2. b) Purattasi starts when, Athma karaghan Sun transit to Kanya Rasi where Sukran, Natural Enmity of Sun attains Neecha and Budhan, Lord of this Rasi goes uchcha both by Default. Sukran denotes Material life/ Enjoyment which are kept away during this month. Sun a Friendly Graha to Budhan by virtue of transit to kanya Rasi makes Lord Vishnu, Adi-devada of Budhan pleased during Purattasi.
  3. c) Kanya Rasi denotes Earth and on Navarathiri celebrated in Purattasi Sri Bhudevi is worshipped first along with other goddess on all 9 days. Radha Janmashtami also falls in this period.
  4. d) Mahalaya Amavasya day is the day of Ancestors worship for all Hindus irrespective of Caste/Creed cutting across Linguistic/ Local Customs. Sani is pleased during this periodwhen food is offered to Ancestors in Different forms as Sun is Pitru karagha and father of Sani graha.

02) Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) Avatar star is Sravanam which is in Makara Rasi owned by Saturn. Makara Rasi also denotes Earth in element and denotes our Karma Bhumi.

03) On First Seva of Suprabhatam, the very first opening of golden Door of Moolavar is done by a Golla (cow herder-Edayan) in the presence of Priests from Jeer Mutt and Temple officials. This honour of giving first darshan to a shepherd is for his community services to Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) when he was in penance in Hill. Doors, Cowherds, gesture to them on first seva are the indications of Sanis karagathvam.

04) The white spot (pacha karpuram) on the Chin of Lord Balaji reminds us the Hit suffered at the hands of Sri Ananthazhwar who had thrown an Iron spade on Lord when later came as an young Lad to help the Pregnant Wife of Ananthazhwar in their Dedicated Services in Nandavanam(Garden). Chin, tooth in Face are under the karagathvam of Saturn besides Iron Implements used in Farms, Garden, Labour help are also indicated by Sani. Even now one could see this crowbar in Entrance.

05) Sage Bhrigu, who went on a mission to find out the most Satvic Nature among Trio, having failed to see this quality with Brahma and Sivan, came to Lord Vishnu and finding him in Yoga Nidhra without bothering him, kicked upon Lord chest which is the abode of Lakshmi. Sri Vishnu apologised to Bhrigu for hurting his feet which hit the hard chest and hence massaged the feet of sage. By this act, Lord made Lakshmi get Angered, Humiliated/Insulted to make her leave Vaikuntam to the Earth. Disgrace, Insults Humiliation, thus arised are due to Sanis karagathvam.

06) Lord Srinivasar was desperately wandering in earth without Food and sleep to find out Lakshmi who left Vaikuntham on above reason. He finally reached Sheshadhri and took shelter in an Ant-hill to Meditate. Desperation,wandering without food,disappointment are Sanis karagam.

07) Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) Stayed in an Ant-Hill Under a Tamarind tree at Seshachalam and came out only to protect Cow and Calf (Brahma and Shiva) when a Shepherd tried to hit them, Emperuman Received the Blow on his Head and bleeded. Hence Golden Kireetam Presented by Akasa Raja is adorned on Fridays to Heal this injury. Ant Hill,Tamarind tree,Compassion in  receiving the  Blow are denoted by Sani…

08) Sri AdhiVaraha was the First God to occupy and own this Hill who had permitted Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) to stay here on condition all pujas and Naivedyam must be offered to him First and all devotees of Lord Balaji must offer their worship to him First before going to Srivari temple. Dependent and one who is obligated permanently are under Sanis karagathvam.

09) Vakulamalika, the old lady was directed by AdiVarahan to Render kainkaryum to Lord Srinivasar when he was in penance in Ant-hill at Seshachalam. She was serving food to Lord then and rendering kainkarium. She was the incarnation of Yasoda and desired to see the marriage of Lord Srinivasar as she could not see then the marriage of Lord Krishna with Rukmani and Sathya bhama. Pottu (Kitchen) in Temple is believed to be under the supervision of Vakulamalika. Compassion to Old aged Lady/ Gesture to Aged shows the influence of Sani graha.

10) Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) Borrowed money from Kuberan for his marriage with Padmavathi by signing a Promissory note to pay with interest duly prepared by Brahma, witness signed by Siva and a peepal tree known as Ashwathm. Kubera is mentioned in Vedas as ‘Chief of spirit of darkness and described as Dwarf, with  pot-belly, humpback, deformed ugly body with eight teeth, three legs and one small eye and a normal one. He is the Custodian of Nava nidhis of wealth to souls and half brother of Ravana. Permanent Debt, Mortgage and Financier, Ugly Description shows the influence of Sani graha.

11) Due to Own Sankalpam, Lord Srinivasar is away from his consort Padmavathi and stands alone in Tirumala while Thayar is in Thiruchanur Separately. Similarly Tirumala Hill is isolated from outside influence and confined to Spirituality. Sani Denotes Isolation, Seperation, spirituality.

12) Tirumala Hill in 3200 Ft above the sea level is a mountainous region with Cold and Dry Climate invariably round the year. Mountains, Cold -Dry Climate, Rocks/ Stones denotes Sanis karagam.

13) In Astronomy, various websites including Nasa.gov describe Saturn is Farthest planet from Earth and Saturn has SEVEN RINGS of thin flat consisting of numerous narrow ringlets made up of Ice particles that travel around the planet. Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) is also in SEVEN HILLs and called as ‘Lord of Seven Hills”.

14) Tirumala is the only Hamlet in the world that has Four Dams for the tiny Town spread within a radius of 3 KM. All Four Dams were constructed on Holy Theerthams to meet the water Needs of town. Sani denotes Dams, Irrigation, Reservoir that retard/ slow/Regulate/reduce the Flow of Water.

15) Dhruvabera (moolavar) apart from four Uttchavars: Bhoga Srinivasar, Koulvu Srinivasar, Ugra Srinivasar and Malayappa Swami either together or separately participate in Various Rituals time to time. Golu Srinivasar Darbar is Daily Routine Seva when Idol is brought out to kalyanamantapam to read before the Lord, the income such as Arjitha seva/Hundi collections on the previous day and expenditure followed by reading of Panchangam of previous/ current day. Koluvu Srinivasar is offered with the prasadam of Mixture of Fried Gingelley Seeds (Ellu) and Jaggery. On Anivara Asthnam, a procedure performed during july every year, yearly accounts are submitted to Koulu Srinivasar when new books are issued for Next financial year. Administration, Discipline, Prasadam including Gingelly seeds signify the influence of Sani Graha.

16) Ugra Srinivasar was the original Prachina Vigraham very long ago. Before Many centuries when this Idol was taken out exposing to sun rays, Big Fire was caught during Brahmotshvam. Lord gave a Divine Direction through an Archakar not to take out Ugra Srinivasar. Since then, this idol is taken out for Procession Before Sun Rise on wee hours of Kaisika Dvadasi day only which is named after the Raga of song rendered by Devotee Chandala Nambadavan. Signifying the fact, Sani is for darkness and Sun is for light, Sani attains Uchcha in Thula Rasi where Sun is Neecha and Vice Versa in Mesha Rasi. It is believed when Sani opened his eyes first time, Sun went in to Eclipse. Darkness, Compassion to Low Caste Devotee and above episode shows Sanis Karagam.

17) On Every Thursday, Tirupavadai Seva is Conducted when one can have ‘Netra Darsanam’ as otherwise the Deity Sports a wide Thiruman Kappu which almost Covers Half the Eyes of Lord and on this Seva When Thiruman Kappu is Peeled off, Lord First Gaze after opening Eyes fall on Mortals. Because It has so much power, it is made to fall on the Heap of ‘Pulihora'(Tamarind Rice) directly in front of him thereby sanctifying it and reducing the intensity of his Gaze. This Tamarind Rice acts like a Paavada protetcing devotees from his powerful Gaze. Then Lord is adorned with a thin Thiruman kappu and this stays till Friday morning during Thirumanjanam. This reminds us the significance connected with the qualities( guna) of Sani graha.

18) Lord Srinivasar addressing Thirumalai Nambi as ‘Thatha'(grandpa) came in disguise of an hunter to demand water from Nambi to quench his thirst by puncturing the pot which Nambi was bringing for Thirumanjanam to the Lord from far away Papavinasam. Next day, Emperuman again as same hunter approached Nambi and discharged an arrow near Hillock to create a fountain called as Akasaganga and showed him this nearby water spring. Grand Father is karagam of Sani.

19) Adiseshan (First one to serve) serves Emperuman as Umbrella, Simhasanam, Paduka, bed. He will never get separated from Lord and render Kainkarium to him always. Adhiseshan manifested in the form of Seshachalam Hill to hold Lord Srinivasar in his hood. To Honour his devotion and dedicated service, Lord Srinivasar wears Nagabaranam in his Right hand. Faithful Servent and Selfless Services, Slaves are Sanis karagathvam.

20) Annamayya (Annamachariar) was imprisoned by King Saluva Narasinga Raya of Penugonda when Saint refused to sing a song on king which he demanded similar to the song of Lord Venkateswara composed by Sri Annamayya. Saint who was in prison chained by shackles sang a song on Emperuman with agony and the divine power of song resulted in chains getting broken. Similar to this, Devotees are also imprisoned invariably without their knowledge when they pass through Vertical Cellular Enclosures: for Arjitha seva(paid) and Horizontal Cellular Enclosures (kunndu) on Free Sudarshan seva with many gates Closed/Opened and made to wait in Cells time to time. Sani Grahas Symbolic Sign is Four Small Squares in the shape of window. Hence Sani denotes Prison, Gate, Window, Chain, Warden. Interestingly Bhoga Srinivasar is Permanently Chained with Moolavar by Golden Shackles.

21) Tirumala is the largest Collection Center in the World for Human Hair, exporting to other nations for Amino acid production. Human Hair is Sanis karagathvam. Tradition believes that No one in Tirumala is supposed to adorn their hair (kesam) with Flowers to maintain Spirituality, Austerity, Humility and Simplicity reminding the directive of Sri Ramanujar. Hair (kesam), above gunas indicate Sanis influence.

22) Lord Srinivasar is subjetced to undergo pressure to give Darshan to Devotees almost 21 hours with only Breakup of just three Hours and His time for Partaking the Prasadam is limited only to just few minutes. Yet Lord is compassionate to give darshan to all devotees with little break which reminds the karagathvam of Sani graha on Hard work, Dedication to Work, patience, compassion.

23) The Geological Survey of India (GSI) Declared Tirumala Hill as ‘National Geological Monuments’ for its Marvel on Eparchaean Unconformity as the Granite and Gneiss of Hill underwent ‘Inundation by Sea’ several Millions years ago and the presence of ‘Ripple Marks’ on the Quartzite Rocks bears Testimony to this fact. Another feature is ‘Sila Thoranam’ at a distance of 1 KM from temple wherein two rock groups precariously hang in the air with each others support forming an Arch. It is a portion of Quartzine left unsupported over a Width of 10 Metres and gap below the Arch is formed by Wind Erosion aided by action of water as Scientific fact is that TIRUMALA was completely UNDER SEA Several Millions years ago. As per various Puranas, Lord Srinivasar made this hill as habitation on a day prior to 28 Mahayugas much before the present kaliyuga. Geological wonders, ancient period, Past, Time, History are Sanis karagam.

24) Devotees Experience Delay often standing in Queue and while nearing the Thirumamani mandapam leading to Moolavar, they will tend to be ‘Mudavan’ by limping slowly to extend the duration of darshan of Lord and with the glimpse of Emperuman, they become ‘Manthan” as they forget what they wanted to seek from Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji) and after coming out from Darshan, they are not able to recollect in Mind the Divine Swarupum of Lord Sri Srinivasa (Balaji). Delay, Slowness, Desperation, are Sani’s karagathvam. Also Sani is called as ‘Mudavan'(lame) and ‘Manthan'(inert mind) by nature.

25) Devotees pray to Lord Srinivasar with ‘Prarthanai'(vow) by climbing the hill on Foot up to the temple, Tonsuring the Head, some times collecting money through ‘Biksha’, Rolling in Prakaram on Stone (angapradekshanam) etc. Tonsuring Hair will Make our Ego, self pride surrender to Lord, Rolling over Stone in Prakaram makes our body surrender to Emperuman. Rolling on Stone, Biksha, Climbing on foot, Fasting and other tough vows indicates the karagathvam of Sani.

26) Old aged people, Handicapped, Disabled Devotees are given special Direct entry to have Darshan without any ticket which only in Tirumala Temple, this consideration is shown in line with the compassion of Lord Srinivasar. Uttchva murti of Emperuman even reaches out masses nowadays in major cities, towns, villages and even crossing across the sea to bless all walks of people in their living places. Old, disabled, weaker section and masses(public) are denoted by Sani graha.

27) Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthaanam (TTD) renders many Social Scheme like Free Food to all Devotees, Free accomodation, Free transport services, Carrying Luggage freely from downhill for devotees climbing hill on foot, Yearly One Lac Free Marriages, Rehabilitation centers for Blind, Deaf, Orphan Children, Old Aged Homes for Destitutes, Free medical treatment for poor, Free distribution of spectacles for old people, Hospitals, schools and colleges for socially backward and downtrodden people children are few to be mentioned. This Coincides with the Social outlook of Sani graha caring for poorer, aged, handicapped and people of ill-health besides the socially backward section.

28) Dhruvabera(moolavar) idol does not conform to any agamic rule as Lord is above all rules with self manifested ‘svayambhoo’ with his eyes are in ‘sama drishti’ showing divine grace to devotees.
